Theresa May has announced that she will resign on the 7th of June. Her resignation came after having a meeting with Graham Brady, the chairperson of the backbench Torry 1922 committee, which is said to have been the means of triggering vote of no confidence.
She said that she has tried and done her best, but she admitted that she will always regret that she was not able to deliver the Brexit.
May’s departure came after three years of wrangling with Brexiters on her own backbenches about what future relationship with the European Union they would be prepared to accept
Theresa May had already lost confidence of MPs, her own cabinet as well as members of her own party before she even decided to resign.
