Minister of Mines and Mining Development Hon Winston Chitando on Tuesday appointed a seven member board for the Minerals Marketing Corporation of Zimbabwe.
The Board comprise of Mr Murangari as the Board Chair, Mr Isaac Kwesu who is the CEO of Chamber of Mines of Zimbabwe, Mr Chininga a former Hwange Collier Company Limited Board member,Ms Mukoga, Mr Tichivangana, Dr Manyauchi and Ms Maravanyika.
The appointment comes at a point the mining industry is also expected to contribute to the vision of making Zimbabwe an upper middle income economy.
MMCZ a wholly government owned corporation presents challenges to the newly appointed board members as the State entity has previously been rocked by allegations on poor corporate governance. Some of the allegations included nepotism, fraud, extravagant allowances and collusion with foreign diamond buyers to manipulate the price of local rough diamonds.
