Zimbabwe Volleyball Association (ZVA) in partnership with the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports (NIF), will be holding a Sitting Volleyball Coaching Course. The course will run from the 9th to the 11th of July 2018 at Danhiko Vocational Training Centre in Harare. This will be the first time ZVA will be hosting this course for its stakeholders. Thirty (30) participants have already registered to take part with the number expected to increase by the time the course gets underway.
Mr Torbjørn Sollie Johannessen from Norway will facilitate this three day event that is expected to usher in a new dimension in Zimbabwean volleyball. In 2016 he was involved in setting up the Sitting Volleyball structures around the country. ZVA, in fulfilling its mandate and in its efforts to meet one of its objectives which is to make volleyball an all-inclusive sport, aims to extend the sport to people with disabilities and have a team ready to compete in the regional, continental, and world championships in preparation for the 2020 Olympics.
The Zimbabwe Volleyball Association will hold a press conference to present the instructor to the media on the 9th of July 2018 at a hotel in the capital.
