The Zanu PF Commissariat Department has assured party supporters of a smooth re-run of primary elections in constituencies where there were irregularities.
This was revealed by the Zanu PF Politburo member and member of the Commissariat Department, Cde Munyaradzi Machacha during the Mashonaland West Provincial Co-ordinating Committee (PCC) meeting.
Cde Machacha, who will be overseeing tomorrow’s primary elections re-run in the province, said the Commissariat Department has put up stringent measures to ensure a successful election.
Cde Machacha said aspiring candidates will be involved in the transportation of voting material and will also not be allowed in polling stations.
He also revealed that a completely different team comprised of war veterans, staff from the Zanu PF headquarters and those retired from the army and police will conduct the elections.
Zanu PF Politburo member and Presidential Advisor, Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa who will be representing the party in the Norton parliamentary constituency, took a swipe at critics who were judging the party by failures of the old dispensation, saying hope and vision marks the cornerstone of the Zanu PF 2018 election manifesto.
The meeting ended with the parading of candidates who have made it so far to represent the party in the upcoming general election.
Zanu PF Mashonaland West Province will tomorrow hold a complete re-run of primary elections in Chegutu East, Chegutu West, Makonde, Zvimba North and Zvimba South.
There will also be a re-run of local authority elections in Norton ward 4, Sanyati ward 16 and Zvimba West ward 2.
